Titanic II: Projet sérieux ou intox?

Mardi dernier, le milliardaire australien Clive Palmer a officiellement présenté à New-York son projet fou: construire une réplique du Titanic II.

Last Tuesday, the Australian billionaire Clive Palmer has officially presented its New York crazy project: build a replica of the Titanic.

"Je veux dépenser l'argent que j'ai avant de mourir". Voilà l'explication de cet homme qui souhaite faire construire le navire en Chine (où il entretient de fortes liaisons commerciales), uniquement avec ses fonds. 

Dans l'ensemble, tout serait identique. Il faudra cependant prendre compte de quelques nouveautés par rapport au premier Titanic: celui-ci sera un peu plus long, plus large pour des raisons de stabilité, et posséderait un pont en plus, notamment pour les embarcations en nombre bien sûr plus important que sur le premier Titanic. Bien évidemment sa propulsion et tout ce qui concerne l'électronique sera mise aux normes actuelles.

"I want to spend the money before I die." That is the explanation of the man who wants to build the ship in China (where he has strong trade links), only with his funds.

Overall, everything is identical. It would, however, take account of some new features compared to the first Titanic: she would be a little longer, wider for stability reasons, and would have one more deck, especially to get more lifeboats than on the first Titanic. Obviously propulsion and everything about electronics will be put to current standards.

Les espaces seront de leur côté tous construits à l'identique. La stricte séparation entre les trois classes qui existaient à l'époque du Titanic (1912) sera elle aussi maintenue.

La transatlantique inaugurale se tiendrait fin-2016. Le Titanic II serait la propriété de la Blue Star Line, compagnie spécialement créée pour l'occasion (en référence à la White Star Line, compagnie du premier Titanic).

Spaces will be on their side all built the same. The strict separation between the three classes that existed at the time of the Titanic (1912) will also be maintained.

The inaugural transatlantic would take place end-2016. Titanic II would be owned by the Blue Star Line, a company specially created for the occasion (referring to the White Star Line, Titanic's Prime).
